240 Covid positive cases, 4 deaths reported in Patiala

PATIALA: In Patiala, four more deaths were reported taking the death toll to 221 so far whereas 240 more cases including three cops and two healthcare workers were reported positive on Thursday taking the tally to 7898 in the district of which 1456 were active cases whereas 6221 patients have recovered.
Among 240 positive reported on Thursday, 150 were from Patiala city, four from Samana, 13 from Rajpura, one from Nabha and 72 from different villages. Among three deaths reported on Thursday included three from Patiala city and one from Patran and were between 46 to 78 years old age group. So far, 109433 samples have been taken of which 99285 samples tested negative while 2000 reports were awaited.
Patiala Civil Surgeon Dr Harish Malhotra said that many asymptomatic are being found positive and people should come voluntarily come forward for testing. He said capacity of beds in the hospital has also been increased.
In Ropar, 47 more tested positive today taking the tally to 1200 while two deaths were also reported taking the death toll to 37 in the district. So far total 39,017 samples have been collected of which 37,461 tested negative while 684 reports are awaited and 293 are active cases whereas 870 have been recovered till date.
