The session of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly took place on Wednesday for the first time since March this year and was adjourned sine die after paying tribute to the departed.

The House had a one-day monsoon session with all precautionary measures as the government was not keen on holding a longer session because of the epidemic. The session was convened after following all COVID-19 rules.

This was the first sitting of the House since March this year when the duration of the session was cut due to the epidemic. The BJP Legislature Party staged a sit-in in the assembly premises against the killing of Hisa and party leaders in the state.

BJP Legislature Party leader Manoj Tigga said, "We decided to hold a sit-in near Ambedkar's statue to protest the killing of party workers in the state."
