Eskom announced late on Thursday afternoon that a conveyor belt, which feeds coal into the Medupi generation units, has been repaired.

This has improved Eskom's capacity to supply electricity.

While no loadshedding is, therefore, expected for Thursday evening or Friday, Eskom says the system remains constrained and vulnerable.

Should there be any significant breakdowns, loadshedding may still have to be implemented at short notice.
