57-year-old security guard attempts self immolation near Telangana assembly building

HYDERABAD: A 57-year-old security guard attempted self immolation near Ravindra Bharathi on Thursday.
The man was rescued by cops present there and sent to Osmania General Hospital.
The man, identified as N Nagulu, is a native of Kadtal in Mahabubnagar. On Thursday noon, he came with a bottle of petrol towards Ravindra Bharathi near the state assembly and doused himself.
"Both, Nagulu and his wife are working, the couple has been facing financial problems for some time. Nagulu reportedly slipped into depression because of financial issues," said DCP Centre zone, Viswa Prasad.
"The team of cops on duty immediately doused the fire. He hid behind a truck and doused himself and then came to the main road," he added.
The man sustained 30 per cent burns.
