Aam Aadmi Party leader Sidharth Karapurkar on Thursday raised concerns over Director General of Police Mukesh Kumar Meena asserting that “armed robbery” attempt was the sole motive behind the daylight murder of jeweller Swapnil Walke.
“Why did the DGP come and address media persons in Margao saying that the “armed robbery” was the motive behind the Walke murder? Never in the past, the DGP came and addressed at the media in the South over a murder. We hope that facts are not suppressed in the case,” Karapurkar said.
He reckoned that it is too early to say that the robbery was the motive behind the murder. The probe has to be conducted from different angles factoring in the past offences of the accused.
“The DGP says that investigation is still going on… Why was he in a hurry to declare that the motive of the murder was armed robbery?” Karapurkar asked.
