Expert committee constituted to look into concerns raised about loan moratorium
The government on Thursday constituted an expert committee under former CAG Rajiv Mehrishi to look into concerns raised during the proceedings of the Supreme Court hearing in the Covid 19 loan moratorium case.
The committee, which has been asked to give its report within a week, has been tasked to measure the impact waiver interest and interest on interest under the COVID-19 related moratorium on the national economy and financial stability and give suggestions to mitigate financial constraints of various sections of society.
Ravindra H. Dholakia, former Professor, IIM Ahmedabad & ex- Member, Monetary Policy Committee of Reserve Bank of India and B Sriram, former managing director, State Bank of India & IDBI Bank will be the members of the panel, a finance ministry statement said.
