Chennai:
PMK leader Ramadoss expressed displeasure with AICTE's stance on promoting arrear students.
He asked All Indian Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to reconsider it's opinion of being against the promotion of arrear students.
Ramadoss enumerated points such as increase of anxiety in students and the extraordinarily uncertain global situation to backtrack the council's stance.
Also he raised a question as to why is promoting arrear students wrong when they appear for the same subjects that the other students were promoted sans exams.
The AICTE had no problem with non-arrear students promoted without semester examinations.
AIADMK's decision was vouched by Ramadoss, he said that the government is well within legal parameters to do so.
The veteran politician's comments follow AICTE's letter asking Anna University to rescind the policy with the warning of stripping approval.
