AMD Ryzen Zen 3 CPUs, Radeon RX 6000 GPUs arriving in October to take on Intel, Nvidia

AMD has lately been focusing a lot on its CPUs and GPUs and has come to be known for the kind of performance its products offer.

Highlights

  • AMD is coming up with the next-generation CPUs and GPUs in October.
  • The AMD Ryzen Zen 3 is launching on October 8 with huge improvements.
  • The AMD Radeon RX 6000 GPUs with breakthrough gaming architecture are coming on October 28.

AMD's next-generation CPU and GPU models will arrive next month, the company has announced. The next-generation Ryzen Zen 3 CPUs will debut on October 8 while the Radeon RX 6000 GPUs are scheduled to be announced on October 28. AMD has proven its mettle with the last-gen Ryzen and Radeon chips that it can take on Intel and Nvidia that pretty much dominate the market. And the upcoming CPUs and GPUs will be AMD's answer to Intel's Tiger Lake chips and Nvidia's GeForce RTX 3000 GPUs.

It is going to be important for AMD to get everything right with its upcoming GPU and CPU models since the bar for their performance is set too high. Intel unveiled its Tiger Lake processors earlier this month and they look promising as far as their performance and benchmark results go. In fact, a host of manufacturers have already announced the 11th-generation Intel processors for their laptops. As such, AMD will need to convince customers with the Ryzen Zen 3 computer processors.

But more than the CPUs, AMD's Radeon GPUs have a pretty big fan base, who, in the anticipation, has given a name to the upcoming GPUs. They are calling the Radeon RX 6000 GPUs "Big Navi". AMD's upcoming GPUs are expected to outstrip the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3000 GPUs that are as monstrous as they are being touted. The flagship model in Nvidia's new series is capable of handling 8K fps games and handle RTX ray-tracing with up to 24GB of RAM. AMD is too likely to put a lot of emphasis on ray-tracing for its upcoming GPUs while talking about their performance on October 28. But for now, it is teasing "a breakthrough gaming architecture" for its upcoming GPUs in the latest tweet.

AMD will also announce its partnerships with ODMs that will be the first ones to ship laptops featuring the latest CPUs and GPUs from the company. We could see the likes of Dell, Lenovo, HP, and MSI constituting the first list of partners. There will also be huge anticipation among AMD fans for the price of its upcoming processors because its rivals Intel and Nvidia are trying to undercut their own previously-launched products with the new ones. We will get to know more about the AMD Ryzen Zen 3 CPUs and Radeon RX 6000 GPUs as their launch dates come closer.
