In the next two days, another 100 oxygen beds and 60 ICU beds will be fully operational, with 30 ventilator beds available, said Rubel Agarwal and PMC's Mayor Murlidhar Mohol.
Mayor Muralidhar Mohol entered the Jumbo Hospital wearing a PPE kit and inspected the health system personally. He also checked the medical treatment methods and the condition of the patients. During this time, he personally discussed the conditions with 20 patients. Also, the mayor gave some instructions to the administrative officers.
At present, 178 COVID-19 patients are undergoing treatment, out of which 38 are undergoing treatment in ICU and 11 on ventilators. While the process of dismissal from the LifeLine Agency, which is responsible for the management of the jumbo facility, is underway, the PMC has made arrangements to provide timely treatment to the patients by providing 59 doctors and 140 paramedical staff through various agencies.
Considering the number of doctors and other medical staff available at the facility, more new appointments will be made. Therefore, no new patient will be admitted in the hospital for at least the next two days. Meanwhile, the exact date of when the hospital will be operational at full capacity will be announced on Sunday.
"The PMC would provide all the necessary medicines to the patients currently undergoing treatment at the Jumbo Hospital and Rs 2 crore had already been provided to the hospital. He also said that a strategic decision would be taken as per the order of the state government on how to dispense the necessary medicines to the newly admitted patients."
