The accused is a tenant in one of the rooms of the same building where the victim stays, they said.
On Monday afternoon, the accused allegedly dragged the minor into his room and committed the crime. Next, he locked her inside and fled the spot.
Munish Chauhan, station house officer (SHO) at Bisrakh police station, said the case came to fore when the girls family reported her to be missing.
“A team reached the spot and started checking the entire building when they saw a room locked from outside. Upon asking the residents of the area, they said the occupant of the room has not been home since the girl went missing. The team then broke open the door and found the minor lying unconscious with her hands and legs tied. She was then rushed to a hospital,” he said.
A complaint was lodged the next day by victim’s father at Ecotech 3 police station. The victim’s father said the accused had laced her drink due to which she could not hear her family members calling her despite being in the same building.
“We have registered a case under relevant sections of of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) pertaining to rape as well as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. We will arrest the accused soon,” he added.
In another incident, the chairman of a private school at Habibpur in Bisrakh has been accused of raping a former student, the police said on Tuesday.
They said the incident occurred on Friday but the victim did not inform them as she was receiving death threats. The case came to the fore when her mother lodged a complaint on Tuesday.
As per the complaint, the victim had called the 30-year-old chairman to ask if she could visit the school and take her transfer certificate (TC). The accused then asked her to meet him at a different location near her house.
“He told my daughter that he was near our place and if she agrees, he would come pick her up and they can both go to the school together,” said her mother. The girl then agreed but the accused took her to an empty plot and committed the crime.
The police have lodged a case under IPC Section 376 (rape) against the accused, who is said to be absconding.
(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
