Yogi Adityanath orders swift release of funds for Aligarh Smart City

LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has directed state officials to immediately release funds for the Aligarh Smart City project and also to pursue with the Centre for its share of funds for the project.
During a review of major projects related to the Aligarh division, the CM on Tuesday directed Aligarh divisional commissioner, who is the chairperson of the Smart City Mission, to take prompt decisions.
During the meeting with administrative officials, MP and MLAs of the area, Yogi discussed the status of projects worth more than Rs 10 crore in Aligarh, Kasganj, Etah and Hathras districts. In the entire division, there are 25 ongoing projects worth over Rs 50 crore.
Stressing on the need to follow timelines, the CM said Aligarh, which is one of the six nodes on the defence corridor project, is a hub of hardware manufacturing, including the lock industry and holds immense potential for industrialization and job creation in the state. He has directed the aviation department to review the status of the Aligarh No Frills Airport project. He also directed the additional chief secretary, home, to set a timeline for a Regional Forensic Labs in Aligarh.
Yogi directed officials to keep public representatives in the loop when planning for developmental projects. During his discussion with the MLA of Hathras, the CM asked for proposals for engaging additional staff in the Trauma Centre. He also told MP Rajvir Singh Diler to send a proposal about ‘Har Ghar Nal’ Yojana and directed the DM to address issues raised by the MP. “The CM also interacted with the MLAs of Patiyali and Kasganj and expressed his unhappiness on the delay in construction of residential and non-residential buildings in Kasganj police lines.
Yogi said an action-plan should be prepared to take the ODOP scheme forward in the area. Where Aligarh is famous for the lock industry, he said, every district has some possibility be explored under this scheme.
He said the Etah Government Medical College should start functioning at the earliest and was informed by the commissioner that studies were expected to commence there from the next academic year. He also directed authorities to ensure early commissioning of a 100-bed maternity wing in Etah. The CM also directed officials to complete the Etah Town Sewerage Scheme and Aligarh Reorganisation Drinking Water Scheme by March 2021.
