'BMC lying about illegal construction at Kangana's bungalow'
Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut's lawyer on Wednesday alleged that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), which demolished part of her Bandra bungalow earlier in the day, was lying about illegal construction there. Amid a raging row over Ranaut's remarks about Mumbai police, the Shiv Sena-controlled BMC on Wednesday started demolishing "illegal alterations" at her Bandra bungalow. However, the Bombay High Court later stayed the demolition process and sought to know how the civic body entered the property when the owner was not present.

Himachal Pradesh chief minister Jai Ram Thakur condemned the demolition of a portion of Kangana Ranaut's Mumbai bungalow by the civic body Wednesday, saying she "is a daughter" of the state and she should get a "proper atmosphere" to work in her field.

Workers of the RPI (A) and Karni Sena had also gathered in support of the actor. RPI (A) leader and Union minister Ramdas Athawale had declared that his party workers will protect Kangana while she is in Mumbai.

Undue importance being given to Kangana's remarks: Pawar
Undue importance is being attached to the statements made by Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, NCP chief Sharad Pawar said on Wednesday without naming her.He said people are not taking her remarks seriously.The former Union minister also said that he does not take seriously the threat calls he received earlier this week. Actress Kangana Ranaut has arrived in Mumbai amid ongoing controversy with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and a verbal tussle with the Maharashtra government. She will be heading to meet her legal team, post the demolition drive that was carried out by the BMC earlier today. She had earlier tested negative for Covid-19 and left for Mumbai from her hometown Manali, with Y-plus security. Accompanying her on this journey was her sister and manager, Rangoli Chandel.
Shelar said the Shiv Sena-controlled BMC showed promptness in demolishing parts of the actresss bungalow.
However, no such action is being taken against illegal constructions located some metres away from Chief Minister Thackerays private residence Matoshree in Bandra, he said.
BJP MLA dubs demolition at Kangana's home as vendetta politics
BJP MLA Ashish Shelar accused the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government of playing "vendetta politics" after the BMC razed illegal alterations at the Bandra bungalow of Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut.
