Gurgaon: The MCG constituted a committee — comprising five officials and five councillors— to prepare a drainage plan for the city to check flooding, surveyed different areas in the city on Tuesday.
While surveying the area around Ambience Mall, Nathupur and Dhanchari camp, councillor Virender Raj Yadav accompanied the officials. “The storm water drain from Khushboo Chowk to Sector 42 needs to be widened. I also visited the area near Jwala Mill. It needs cleaning and stone pitching on both sides. Moreover, I also visited NH-8 near Ambience Mall where the natural drain is blocked, which needs to be unblocked,” said Yadav, who along with Pankaj Saini, executive engineer and other officials visited the area.
Another councillor Seema Pahuja visited the Basai drain, old railway road, Sector-9 and Sector 4, 5 and other adjoining areas.
The councillors, RWAs and residents have been asked to send their suggestions on making a drainage plan for the city by September 14. The committee and concerned executive engineers along with the councillor of that area have been told to inspect the waterlogging-prone areas in the city. After site inspections and suggestions submitted by councillors, officials and residents, a report will be prepared by the committee by September 30.
