Gurgaon: A marble businessman was allegedly kidnapped and robbed of Rs 10 lakh, his mobile phone, gold chain and a gold ring on Monday night.
Vineet Bansal, a resident of Sector 46, has a marble shop in Delhi’s Sultanpur area. According to the police, around 8pm on Monday, Bansal had reached his home in Sector 46 and was parking his vehicle when four masked men came in another vehicle. “Three of them made Bansal hostage at gunpoint inside his car and took him towards Faridabad and dumped him at an isolated place,” a police officer said.
Two of the assailants had occupied the front seat of Bansal’s car while he was made to sit at the back with the third accomplice who had a gun. The fourth member of the gang was following them in their car.
After crossing Paras Hospital they threw Bansal’s iPhone out of the car towards Gurgaon-Faridabad road. They took him inside the forest area of Behrampur where they robbed the victim of Rs 10 lakh cash, one gold chain and kada and wallet. He was dumped inside the forest with his car while the robbers fled in their vehicle.
Tracking the mobile location and details shared by Bansal, police prepared a route map and followed the same path. Around midnight, the team along with Bansal reached at the spot where he was dumped and found Rs 5 lakh cash.
“It seems the accused dropped the cash in a hurry. Out teams are trying to track the gang,” said ACP (crime) Preet Pal Sangwan.
