Pune: Woman held on charge of killing hubby

PUNE: The Dehu Road police on Monday arrested a 35-year-old woman from Ravet and her cousin on suspicion of throttling her husband to death.
Police probe revealed that the woman was angry with her husband, as he frequently suspected her of in fidelity and harassed her.
The Dehu Road police have identified the victim as Lakhamichand Sharma (40). He was throttled to death late on Sunday night at Jadhav Vasti in Ravet. His younger brother, Premchand, (38) from Satara has lodged an FIR.
Assistant inspector Arjun Pawar said Sharma lived with his wife and five children in Ravet. His wife, a domestic helper, was the main earner.
On Sunday night, the suspect came home late from work drunk and started beating and abusing his wife. “In a fit of rage, the woman hit Sharma and, with her cousin’s help, throttled him.
Pawar said the woman admitted to her involvement in the murder during questioning.
