Coronavirus India Live Updates: With 75,809 cases has push India's coronavirus tally to 42,80,442 the Union Health Ministry data this morning showed. The death count has risen to 72,775 with 1,133 more fatalities.
33,23,950 patients have recovered from the infection in the country, pushing the recovery rate to 77.6 per cent.
Maharashtra remains the state hit hardest by the pandemic, followed by Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. India is the country with the second-highest coronavirus caseload in the world after the United States.

9 more COVID-19 cases in Mizoram
With nine new COVID-19 cases reported in Mizoram, the total number of coronavirus cases in the State reached 1,123 on Tuesday, according to the State Health Department.
The State has not reported any death due to the virus, said the Health Department.
There are 391 active cases while 732 patients have been discharged in the state.

Mexico records 3,486 new coronavirus cases, 223 more deaths
Mexico reported 3,486 new confirmed cases of coronavirus infection and 223 additional fatalities on Monday, bringing its totals to 637,509 infections and 67,781 deaths, according to updated health ministry data.
The government has said the real number of infected people is likely to be significantly higher than the confirmed cases.
PGI Rohtak to start phase-2 trial of Bharat Biotech's Covid-19 vaccine
Post Graduate Institute (PGI) Rohtak will start the phase-2 human clinical trial of Bharat Biotech's COVID-19 vaccine.
Speaking to ANI, Dr OP Kalra, vice-chancellor, PGI Rohtak said, "We got permission from Bharat Biotech to start a phase-2 human clinical trial of their vaccine. We've 300 volunteers, aged between 12 years and 65- years, out of which screening of 15 has been completed."
"We hope to get vaccine dosages by tomorrow morning," added Mr Kalra.
Recently, Niti Aayog member Dr Vinod K Paul said that Bharat Biotech's vaccine candidate based on inactivated virus procured by ICMR and Zydus Cadila's candidate based on viral DNA are two Indian COVID-19 vaccines in second phase trial.
India In Talks To Join COVAX Global Vaccine Allocation Plan: WHO

The World Health Organisation is in talks with India about joining the "COVAX" global vaccine allocation plan, a senior WHO adviser said on Monday. "India is certainly eligible, like all countries in the world, to be part of the COVAX facility and discussions are ongoing in that regard," Bruce Aylward told a briefing in Geneva, news agency Reuters reported.
"We would welcome Indian participation... India has extensive experience (with vaccines)," Mr Aylward said. Read more

First Batch Of Russia's Covid Vaccine Sputnik V Released Into Public

The first batch of Sputnik V vaccine against coronavirus, developed by Russia's Gamaleya National Research Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) has been released into civil circulation, regional deliveries are planned in the nearest future, the Russian Health Ministry informs.
"The first batch of the 'Gam-COVID-Vac' (Sputnik V) vaccine for the prevention of the new coronavirus infection, developed by the Gamaleya National Research Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Ministry of Health of Russia, has passed the necessary quality tests in the laboratories of Roszdravnadzor (medical device regulator) and has been released into civil circulation," the ministry said in a statement. Odisha's COVID-19 tally rose to 1,27,892 on Monday as the state registered its highest single-day spike of 3,861 new cases, while 10 fatalities pushed the coronavirus death count to 556, a health department official said, reported news agency PTI. As many as 2,278 new cases were detected in quarantine centres, while 1,583 people tested positive for the infection during contact tracing, he said. Khurda district, under which Bhubaneswar falls, registered the highest number of fresh infections at 767, followed by Cuttack (386), Jajpur (285) and Puri (200), the official said. The state had reported its previous highest single-day spike of 3,810 coronavirus cases on September 6.

West Bengal's COVID-19 death count rose to 3,620 on Monday after 58 more people died due to the disease, while 3,077 fresh cases pushed the coronavirus tally in the state to 1,83,865, the health department said, reported news agency PTI. The discharge rate climbed to 85.40 per cent, with 3,021 people recovering from the disease since Sunday evening, it said in a bulletin. Kolkata accounted for 16 deaths, followed by neighbouring North 24 Parganas (13), Howrah (8), Hooghly (6) and Paschim Medinipur (3).
