Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a 'Swanidhi Samvad' with the street vendors of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday. The Central Government has launched the 'Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana' to reintegrate street vendors affected by COVID-19 epidemic.
A statement issued from the Prime Minister's Office said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will 'self-talk' with the street vendors of Madhya Pradesh on September 9. According to the statement, 4.5 lakh eligible street vendors have been registered under this scheme by Madhya Pradesh. Identity cards and vendor certificates have been issued to more than four lakh street vendors.
"Madhya Pradesh has submitted 2.45 lakh eligible beneficiary applications to banks on the portal," the statement said. Out of the applications on the portal, 1.4 lakh street tracks have received the approval of 140 crores till date. Madhya Pradesh ranks first in the country.
Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan will also participate in this event to be organized through video conference.
During this time, the Prime Minister will interact with the three beneficiaries of the state from their work place. A film prepared on the Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana will also be screened before the Prime Minister's address at the Madhya Pradesh State Program.
