Indigenous toys will stay in Hunar Haat: Naqvi

Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that to restore the old and ancestral tradition of toys in the country, the 'Hunar Haat', which will be held from October 9, will see the influx of indigenous toys. Mr. Naqvi said on Tuesday that after nearly six months due to the challenges of the Corona virus, 'Indoor toys will be lit this time in' Hunar Haat ', starting from October 9, 2020, with the theme' Local to Global '.


There has been a very old and ancestral tradition of production of indigenous toys in every region of the country, which was disappearing. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call to promote indigenous toys has revived India's indigenous toy industry. Every region of the country is full of 'masters of skill' making wood, brass, bamboo, glass, cloth, paper, clay toys. To provide a chance market for this magnificent indigenous production, 'Hunar Haat' is going to give a big platform. 'Hunar Haat' will be held in Prayagraj from 9 to 18 October.

The Union Minister said that with a call to encourage indigenous toys, the Indian toy industry will once again establish its dominance in the market. Starting on October 9, 2020, more than 30 percent of the stalls will be for indigenous toy artisans. The craftsmen-craftsmen will also be helped through various institutions for attractive packaging of indigenous toys.

Mr. Naqvi said that in the last five years, rare handmade indigenous items of 'Hunar Haat' providing employment opportunities to more than five lakh Indian artisans and craftsmen have become very popular among the people. The 'Hunar Haat' has become an 'authentic brand' of indigenous handmade products, giving a chance-market to artisans, craftsmen, artisans, skill masters from remote areas of the country.

So far, more than two dozen 'Hunar Haat' have been organized in different parts of the country by the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs, in which lakhs of artisans, craftsmen, artisans have got employment opportunities. In the coming days, 'Hunar Haat' will be organized in Jaipur (23 October to 1 November), Chandigarh (7 to 15 November), Indore (21 to 29 November), Mumbai (22 to 31 December 2020), Hyderabad (I to 17 January 2021) ), Lucknow (23 to 31 January 2021), Delhi (India Gate - 13 to 21 February 2021), Ranchi (20 to 28 February 2021), Kota (5 March to 14 March 2021), Surat / Ahmedabad (20 to 27 March 2021).

He told that this time 'Hunar Haat' will also have a digital and online performance. Along with this, people are also being allowed to buy goods displayed in 'Hunar Haat' online. The artisans of 'Hunar Haat' and their indigenous handmade products are being registered in 'Gem' (Government e Marketplace). Apart from this, various export councils have shown interest in providing international market for indigenous products of artisans, artisans, which would enable the indigenous products of these artisans, artisans to get a large international market. Shri Naqvi said that the 'Hunar Haat', which is going to be resumed, has created an atmosphere of enthusiasm and happiness among the artisans, craftsmen, masters of millions of indigenous heritage of the country.
