Representative imageNEW DELHI: A teen who targeted ATMs in Karol Bagh, Prasad Nagar and Patel Nagar areas was arrested in central Delhi. He had decided to break into ATMs for money to buy liquor.
The accused, Kunal Ridla (19), was found to be involved in at least half a dozen cases of breaking into ATMs in central Delhi in the past four months.
DCP (central) Sanjay Bhatia said that following a spurt in the number of break-ins at ATMs, a team led by SHO Karol Bagh Maninder Singh was formed to track down the burglars. The cops scanned through all the CCTV cameras within a radius of 1km near the ATMs during which they saw the youth in some of them.
"We laid a trap for the youth near Karol Bagh and arrested him. The tools used for breaking ATMs were also seized," said Bhatia.
