We had earlier told you about Kalidas Jayaram’s latest passion – organic farming – which he started during lockdown. And that the actor is eagerly waiting to cook Onasadya with the vegetables from his garden at his Chennai home. After a week of Onam, when we got in touch with the actor, he shared us his happiness in having a delicious sadya on the auspicious day with the first yield from his farm. “It was great. We couldn’t harvest everything, but we used some of the veggies from our garden for the sadya,” he said. Here’s the video of his beautiful vegetable garden that he took for us: Kalidas had told us that it was his dad who is known for his love for nature, gave him the ides to try organic farming when he was bored during lockdown. He had planted pumpkin, bitter gourd, tomato, green chilli, onion and varieties of beans. “I feel it is a productive thing to do now as there is plenty of free time and some of us tend to overthink. I was done watching movies and can work out only for one to two hours maximum. It got really boring after a month of lockdown, but now I have something to look forward to,” he said. The actor finds gardening as a life lesson. “It is not only teaching me to farm, it is also making me more patient and disciplined as I have to be systematic or else the plants won’t yield,” he added.
