In a major success, the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Police arrested three terrorist associates (OGWs) and recovered incriminating material from the Hajin area of Bandipora district in north Kashmir.
The Hajin police station in Bandipore received information from reliable sources that some miscreants at the behest of local active terrorists of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit have hoisted Pakistani flags at the Hajin main bazaar, aiming to create fear psychosis and incite antinational feelings among the common people of the Hajin town
To this effect, an FIR was lodged under relevant sections of law and investigation initiated. During the course of the investigation three persons, namely, Mujeeb Shamas, Tanveer Ahmad Mir, and Imtiyaz Ahmad Sheikh, were identified.
A few residents of Mir Mohalla Hajin, who admitted their involvement in the crime, were arrested. One hand grenade, cloth, sewing machine, and other incriminating material used in preparing the flags were also recovered from them. Further investigation of the case is going on.
This year around 113 terror associates were arrested across the Kashmir valley and from their information, dozens of terrorist hideouts were busted and huge arms and ammunition have also been recovered till now.
