A render of the upcoming Xbox Series S has appeared online, hinting at the design of the console. The information comes from Twitter user @bdsams and it shows off a white console that looks reminiscent of the Xbox One S (review). The console has a black grill on the top which looks to be the fan to blow out hot air from the console. We don't get a look at the back of the console for the ports and from the leaked render it looks like the console could forgo a disc drive.

The Xbox Series S has been rumoured for quite some time, suggesting that it could be a lower-powered console with a 4 Teraflop GPU when compared to the 12 Teraflop GPU of the Xbox Series X. It will cater to those looking for a 1080p or even 1440p in some cases for gaming. The console is expected to have the same CPU and GPU as the Series X albeit with lower power. It is also expected to house the same SSD tech as the Series X.
The Xbox Series S is probably Microsoft's worst kept secret. Information about the console has appeared in official Microsoft documents. Then, a consumer got his hands on a next-gen Xbox controller where the packaging hinted at the Series S. You can read about it here. Lastly, we got information about the Series S in an Xbox One controller packaging and you can check out the details here.

According to the tweet, it looks like the Series S will be aggressively priced at $299 (Rs 22,000 approx. directly converted) while the Series X will be priced at $499 (Rs 37,000 approx. directly converted). Both the consoles are said to go on sale November 10 in the US. There is no information on when the console will launch in India. Microsoft is expected to hold a press conference “soon” to unveil the price and launch date for its next-gen console.
On the other hand, Sony was rumoured to have a PS5 even on September 9 to reveal the price and the launch date. But it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. You can read more about the leaked price and launch date for the PS5 here.
