\'Delhi doc\, Sushant’s sister gave him illegal drug\'

MUMBAI: Actor Rhea Chakraborty, being probed for the death of her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput, on Sunday submitted an application with the Bandra police seeking a probe into Sushant’s sister Priyanka Singh and a doctor attached to a Delhi-based government hospital who prescribed him anxiety medicines.

She sought that an FIR be filed against the duo for cheating under the IPC, provisions of NDPS Act & Telemedicine Practice Guidelines.

TOI on Monday learnt through police sources that Rhea was at Bandra police station for almost two hours to record her statement based on the written application.

Meanwhile, the Narcotics Control Bureau, probing a drug angle in the case, has summoned Rhea to appear again before it on Tuesday. Sources said Rhea is likely to undergo intense questioning for a third day in succession regarding alleged procurement of narcotics believed to have been consumed by Sushant Singh and her brother Showik.

In her written application to the police against Sushant’s sister and a doctor, Rhea has alleged that Sushant was given medication that falls under the category of controlled substances in the NDPS Act, without proper prescription. The medicines were antipsychotic drugs.

She claimed to have advised him against taking any such drug without a doctor’s recommendation. Sushant said he trusted his sister, who had texted him the prescription of a doctor attached to a central government hospital in Delhi. Rhea also said the prescription showed Sushant as an OPD patient in Delhi when he was in Mumbai.

“This shows that it is a forged one. The doctor is a cardiologist who thought it fit to prescribe psychotropic substances to a person he did not know and had never met,’’ her complaint said. Lawyer Vikas Singh, representing Sushant’s father K K Singh, did not respond to TOI’s calls or text messages.
