East Singhbhum records 6 of 12 Covid deaths in state

Ranchi: Jharkand recorded 12 Covid casualties and 1,553 fresh infections reported on Monda, taking the state’s total caseload to 52,620 cases, of which 14,588 are active, 37,550 have recovered (including 1,366) on Monday and 482 have died.
Among the 12 casualties, East Singhbum continued to report the highest number with six deaths followed by state capital Ranchi with three and West Singhbhum, Saraikela and Deoghar recording one death each on Monday.
East Singhbhum continued top the chart in fresh infections with a total of 495 new cases, followed by Ranchi with 337. Ramgarh (134), Hazaribag (100) and Deoghar (74) also reported a steep increase in new cases.
The seven-day growth rate in Jharkhand fell to 3.35%, which is 1% lesser than last week, but higher than the national figure of 2.16%. The seven-day doubling rate of 21.01 in the state remained 10 points ahead of the national average.
