Now, 20,000 cops in south Tamil Nadu will look forward to their birthdays with a happy reason

MADURAI: South Zone IG S Murugan has instructed all the superintendents of police in southern Tamil Nadu to provide one day casual leave to all police personnel and officers on their birthdays.
A circular in connection was sent to all superintendents of police and deputy inspector generals of police in southern Tamil Nadu on Monday.
Murugan instructed the SPs to advise his subordinates to wish police personnel at respective police stations on the eve of their birthday.
A police officer said more than 20,000 policemen in the 10 districts in south Tamil Nadu would be benefited.
Although providing a day off to policemen on their birthdays is in practice in some cities, this is the first time such leave is being provided to cops in the south zone, according to a police officer.
Most of the policemen do not find time to spend quality time with their family members due to the hectic duty schedule. A day off on their birthday will make them feel good. The birthday greetings from their superiors and fellow policemen will make the cops feel recognized.
