6,000 active hospital Covid cases in PCMC limits

PIMPRI CHINCHWAD: Nearly 5,000 patients have been released from home quarantine in Pimpri Chinchwad over the past week, taking the number of self-isolated patients to 1,662.
This also meant that the number of active cases in Pimpri Chinchwad hospitals, at 6,101, has overshot the home-quarantine numbers.
PCMC additional commissioner Santosh Patil told TOI this was a good trend. “Many patients do not have separate facilities at home and in such cases, there is a chance of family members getting infected. So 30-40% under home isolation is good,” Patil said.
