Two persons were killed after a three-storeyed building collapsed at Chetti Street in Coimbatore late on Sunday.
The Fire and Rescue Services and the public rescued five persons who got trapped under the debris of the building. Police said that search operations were continuing to trace a woman Kasturi, aged 65.

The deceased have been identified as Gopalswami, 72, and Swetha, 25.
Those rescued from the debris were identified as Thanvir, 5, Vanaja, 47, Manikandan, 42, Kavitha, 46, and Sarojini, 70.
Police said that the building in the congested Chetti Street collapsed around 9 p.m. on Sunday.
Residents in the area said that people were staying on the ground floor and the first floor of the building.
Coimbatore District Collector K. Rajamani and Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Sumit Sharan visited the place and gave directions for rescue operations.
MLA Amman K. Arjunan who visited the place said that the building which collapsed was very old.
The cause of the building collapse was yet to be ascertained.
