Mr Difloriano was transported to hospital in a critical condition on Friday afternoon, where he remained under police guard.
He was in a serious condition on Saturday.
Armed police officers had found Mr Difloriano hours after another man, 36-year-old Aleksandar Stevanovic, died from a gunshot wound to his chest at Henry Street, Lewisham.
Mr Difloriano was in a nearby home when he was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head.
The two men were known to each other, police said.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
Mr Difloriano is the founder of The Saint Michael Christian Brothers Fight Club, which was the focus of an investigation into the shooting murder of father-of-two Brad Dillon in Leichhardt in 2014.
