  • The commission will be hearing testimony related to power utility Eskom on Monday.
  • Eskom's former chief executive officer (CEO) Tshediso Matona will deliver evidence.
  • Matona served as Eskom's CEO for seven months before being suspended.

The Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Allegations of State Capture resumes on Monday with Eskom-related testimony.

Eskom's former head Tshediso Matona and an independent consultant for Eskom, Nicholas Linnell, were expected to appear before Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo.

Matona served as CEO for seven months before leaving the power utility in 2015.

The power utility had to implement stage 4 load shedding last week due to a combination of multiple breakdowns at generating units and increased demand due to a cold snap.

Last week the commission heard Bosasa-related testimony with former environmental affairs minister Nomvula Mokonyane taking the stand.
