Gun, ammo seized in Santa Cruz

A man was held with a pistol and a quantity of ammunition during an anti-crime exercise conducted in Santa Cruz on Saturday.

According to police, officers of the Santa Cruz CID were on patrol on Blackford Street, Upper Santa Cruz, when they came across a man on the road behaving suspiciously.

Police stopped and searched him and found a Beretta pistol with 15 rounds of ammunition in a magazine.

Police later searched his house and found three more rounds of ammunition.

The exercise was co-ordinated by Sgt (Ag) Nelson and assisted by PC Holder and other officers of the Santa Cruz CID.
