Delhi Metro, considered to be the lifeline of the capital and the backbone of public traffic, returned to track on Monday after 169 days. As a precaution due to the global epidemic corona outbreak, services of Delhi Metro, which has been closed for the last five months, were restored at 7 am between Samaypur Badli to Huda City Center on the Yellow Line including Rapid Metro, Gurugram.


According to a spokesperson of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), today and tomorrow Tuesday, the Metro will run only on the Yellow Line from 0700 to 11.00 AM and from 4.00 to 8.00 PM. After this, Shiv Vihar will start from Line 3/4-Blueline, Noida Electronic City, Vaishali, and Line Seven (Pick Line) Majlis Park from Line 3/4-Blueline on September 9. This service will also be available for four hours in the morning and evening. Metro services will be available from 7 am to 11 am and from 4 pm tonight.

In the same phase, on September 10, line one (Rithala to the martyr site), line five (green line) from Kirti Nagar-Inderlok to Brig Hoshiar Singh, and line six (violet line) will run from Kashmiri Gate to Raja Nahar Singh and its time will also be in the morning and It will be of four hours in the evening. There will be metro services from 7 am to 11 am and from 4 pm to pm.

In the second phase, Metro services will start from September 11, and in this, the time for Metro train journey has been increased from four hours to six hours. In the second phase, apart from the first phase, line eight (magenta line) will start from Janakpuri West to Botanical Garden, and line nine (gray line) from Dwarka to Najafgarh. Its time will be from 7 AM to 11 AM and from 4 PM to 10 PM.

In the third phase, metro train services will be available on all lines from 6 am to 11 pm from September 12. In this phase, apart from lines one and two (Airport Express Line), New Delhi to Sector 21 will be operational.

He said that under the SOP issued by the Union Urban Development and Housing Ministry, the entry points of the metro station will be given entry only after the thermal screening of passengers and entry and exit of people will be prohibited at all stations in the prohibited area. Face masks will be compulsory for passengers and staff.
