PATNA: In a departure from his usual habit of not making personal remarks against his opponents, JD(U) president and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Monday raked up the issue of misbehavior done with Aishwarya Rai, the estranged wife of the RJD boss Lalu Prasad’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav, and asked from Lalu family what kind of treatment they meted out with the granddaughter of former CM Daroga Prasad Rai.
Aishwarya, the daughter of former minister Chandrika Rai and granddaughter of Daroga Prasad Rai, was married to Tej Pratap Yadav, but their marriage broke after Lalu’s son filed a case in a Patna court seeking divorce from his wife. Their matter is still pending before a court in the state capital. Chandrika had won 2015 assembly polls from Parsa seat on the RJD symbol and also became minister in the grand alliance government from the RJD quota.
Referring to the recent joining of the RJD’s seven MLAs including Chandrika Rai and the Paliganj MLA Jai Vardhan Yadav into the ruling JD(U); Nitish said Chandrika is the son of the former CM Daroga Prasad Rai who once extended a lot of help to Lalu Prasad. Similarly, Jai Vardhan Yadav is the grandson of former Union minister Ram Lakhan Singh Yadav. Ram Lakhan Yadav did a lot of work in the education sector by establishing a number of degree-level colleges.
“What kind of treatment was meted out with the grandchildren of great people like Daroga Prasad Rai and Ram Lakhan Babu? Daroga babu and Ram Lakhan Babu had helped a lot to whom in politics? Why are the sons and grandchildren of such great people quitting their party?” Nitish raised a series of questions while addressing his first virtual rally in the state capital here.
The JD(U) chief launched his party’s campaign for the forthcoming Bihar assembly polls through the virtual rally.
Nitish also said Aishwarya is an educated woman and see what kind of treatment was meted with this educated woman.
