Trichy man arrested for raping and impregnating minor girl

TRICHY: A 34-year-old man has been arrested in Trichy under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for raping and impregnating a minor girl
The accused has been identified as R Karthick of Woraiyur.
On Sunday, the Srirangam all-woman police received a complaint from the 17-year-old survivor's family that Karthick had a sexual relationship with her since June, which resulted in her pregnancy.
Srirangam all-woman police Inspector Jaya said both of them were in a relationship. The inspector added that the girl, who is at the early stage of pregnancy, had been admitted to Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital (MGMGH) in Trichy for medical examination.
