I watched with the "here we go again" feeling as Clicks trended on social media for demeaning black hair, and putting white hair on a pedestal.
What is more sad is, Clicks is not the first, nor will it be the last.
Who remembers the Dove campaign? We have seen "Outsurance, H&M, KFC, Dischem and many others get away with this sort of things with an apology.
This is pure racism, and the campaign has set us back one hundred years as a nation.
I read the apology statement and I heard on different media platforms black haircare product "AfroBotanics" founder Ntombenhle Khathwane singing for her supper, and being an apologist of white supremecy and racism by Clicks.
If you are seriously outraged by the campaign Clicks ran on its website, stop thinking for your stomach and put your outrage to action.
Pull your brand from Clicks shelves and terminate any and all agreements you my have with the company.
There is no revolution without bloodshed.
Blood is the foundation all revolutions stand on.
Corporate South Africa will continue to get away with this sort of thing because, they know we are powerless.
Our memory span is short. Tomorrow the news cycle will move on and we would have forgotten about the Clicks campaign.
This time I say enough is enough and this far and no further. Reparations must be paid. We as children of the soil must walk away from Clicks and never buy from them again.
