A first of its kind initiative by the hospital, aims to provide high-end clinical diagnosis and consultation by Gastroenterologist and Urologist in the district, which does not have the access to any superspeciality or multi-specialty hospital.

Experienced Gastroenterologists Dr Praveen Jha, MD, DM, Consultant, Gastroenterology & Dr Pradeep Joshi, MS, MCh, Senior Consultant, Department of GI surgery, GI oncology, Minimal access and Bariatric surgery and Urologists Dr Rajiv Kumar, MS, MCh, Consultant, Department of Urology, Renal Transplant, Uro- Oncology and minimal invasive access (Laproscopy) from Regency Superspecialty Hospital, Lucknow will be visiting Outreach OPDs on first and third Friday of every month from 10 AM to 2 PM in order to cater to the needs of the people in the district. The outreach OPD will be a boon for people with gastro, kidney and urological issues and both doctors and Simhans Hospital will be undertaking all the COVID-19 guidelines for a healthcare facility.

Regency Hospital was established in 1995 with a view to fill the wide gap between the demand of high-quality medical services and actually available services on the ground. In a span of 25 years, the hospital has been able to establish a distinct identity for delivering super specialty medical services to Kanpur, surrounding cities & rural areas.

Dr Pradeep Joshi, MS M.Ch.(GI Surgery), Senior Consultant, Regency Superspecialty Hospital, Lucknow, said, “Our vision is to become the largest Healthcare player in the State of Uttar Pradesh over the next 5 years. With state-of-the-art labs and dedicated Gastro and Uro Operation Theatre and ICU, many cases have been treated with 100 percent success rate, some were only from Central Uttar Pradesh. By understanding the importance of patients receiving from other parts of UP, Simhans management has taken the noble step to come up with Outreach OPD centres. Patients from the Simhans Hospital would now conduct OPD’s on alternate Fridays, twice a month. This will make life easier for those patients as most procedures and follow-ups can be done at their doorstep in Raebareli itself.”

Some of the common problems addressed by gastroenterology doctors are acid refluxes, stomach ulcers, bloated stomach, food poisoning and irritable bowel syndrome. It is always recommended to consult with the best gastroenterology doctors for a quick treatment of any digestive problems. Whereas, Urological medical and surgical specialists are focusing on the urinary tract of males and females and also with the disorders relating to the male reproductive system, urinary infection and urinal burning, renal stone, urology related malignancy, Gall stones and GI cancers.

“We want to ensure that all the patients are provided an appropriate medical through our outreach OPD services. Simhans Hospital is following all the guidelines for COVID-19 and we urge all the patients suffering from gastro and urological issues to come out and get their health check-up done. We believe through the launch of this service most of our patients will not have any break in their medical treatment and all our senior consultants be available through this one-on-one interface. Social distancing processes have created their own challenge in healthcare services and we are creating solutions to meet our patient expectations. All our services at the hospitals are continuing and our emergency department is open 24/7 to extend medical attention,” said Dr Rajiv Kumar, M. Ch (Urology and Renal Transplant) and Dr Praveen Jha, MD, DM, Consultant Gastroenterology about the newly-launched OPD service.
