AP BIE Intermediate syllabus reduced by 30%

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Board of Intermediate Education has reduced the syllabus for classes XI and XII by 30 percent for 2020-21 academic year.
The BIE has published the rationalised syllabus and deleted chapters on its official website. The BIE took the decision to compensate for the days lost due to the closure of educational institutions since the outbreak of Covid-19 in Andhra Pradesh in March. According to officials, the syllabus was revised by retaining all core concepts. Earlier, the CBSE had reduced the course load for Class XII and XII.
N Venkata Ramana, a senior mathematics faculty at a private college, said the new syllabus will not be part of the topics for any internal assessment and year-end board examinations. “It is not clear whether these topics will be omitted from examinations like EAMCET, JEE and others,” said Ramana.
Analysing deleted topics in mathematics, Ramana said that some concepts related to complex numbers, conic section, permutations and combinations, bi-nominal theorem, etc. were removed from the syllabus. TNN
