Farmer held for growing marijuana

Vadodara: A farmer in Panchmahal was arrested on Sunday for growing marijuana in his field.
The special operations group (SOG) of Panchmahal police had received information that the farmer, Bhaila Matiya, has grown marijuana in his farm. Based on the information, SOG sleuths raided the farm on Sunday. Initially, the cops did not find anything suspicious as they only found maize crops. But as they went further inside the farm, they found marijuana plants.
Police said that the marijuana plants weighed over 18 kilograms. The entire stock was seized by the cops and Matiya was arrested. An offence was registered under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act against him at Damavav police station.
