COVID-19 Cases India Updates: India's recovery rate is 77.3 per cent.
New Delhi: Coronavirus India Live Updates: A single-day spike of 90,632 cases has push India's coronavirus tally to 41,13811, the Union Health Ministry data this morning showed. The death count has risen to 70,626 with 1,065 more fatalities.
31,80,865 patients have recovered from the infection in the country, pushing the recovery rate to 77.3 per cent.
Maharashtra remains the state hit hardest by the pandemic, followed by Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh. India is the country with the third-highest coronavirus caseload in the world after the United States and Brazil.

August Sees Fastest Growth Of Covid Cases In MaharashtraMaharashtra reported the fastest growth of coronavirus infection in August, registering over 3.70 lakh cases, a senior state health official said.
According to data of the Maharashtra health department, the state reported 3,76,587 COVID-19 cases last month, 2,41,820 cases in July and 1,04,748 cases in June.
"On August 1, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the state was 4,31,719, which jumped to 8,08,306 on September 1. This is probably the fastest growth of cases in the state since January," the health official said.

Covid-19 Vaccine Developers Plan Joint Safety Pledge On Approval: ReportSeveral COVID-19 vaccine developers, including Pfizer Inc, Johnson & Johnson and Moderna Inc, plan to issue a public pledge not to seek government approval until their vaccine candidates are proven to be safe and effective, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.
The companies would pledge to adhere to high scientific and ethical standards in the conduct of clinical studies and in their manufacturing processes, the Journal report said, citing the draft of a joint statement that is still being finalized.

Ludhiana Police Sells COVID-19 Care Kits For Asymptomatic Patients
The Ludhiana police are selling COVID-19 care kits through the police canteen to people who are testing positive for the virus but have no symptoms and are under home isolation.
These kits are being sold at the price of Rs 1,700, inclusive of all taxes and home delivery charges.
"Each kit contains 18 items including vitamin and zinc tablets, and pulse oximeter. Asymptomatic patients can buy them at Rs 1,700 which is lesser than the market price," said R Agarwal, Police Commissioner.
Mainland China Reports 10 New Covid-19 Cases, Unchanged From A Day Earlier
Mainland China reported 10 new COVID-19 cases on Sept. 5, unchanged from a day earlier, the country's national health authority said on Sunday.
The National Health Commission said in a statement that all the new cases were imported, marking the 21th consecutive day with no locally transmitted infections.
The number of new asymptomatic cases rose to 17 from eight a day earlier. China does not count symptomless infections as confirmed COVID-19 cases.

Mexico Says 122,765 Extra People Died During Pandemic In 'Excess Deaths' Study
Mexico has recorded 122,765 deaths more than would be expected during the pandemic up to August, the health ministry said on Saturday in a report on excess mortality rates, suggesting Mexico's true coronavirus toll could be much higher.
Mexico has recorded 67,326 confirmed coronavirus deaths and 629,409 cases, the world's fourth highest death toll from the virus that has infected more than 26 million people around the globe.
Mexico's government has often said the real number of infected people is likely to be significantly higher than the confirmed cases due to the low levels of testing.
Record 70,000 COVID-19 Patients Discharged In Single Day: Health Ministry
The recovery rate of coronavirus in the country touched a record high of more than 70,000 patients being discharged in a single day, said Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Sunday.
"The highest ever single-day recoveries of 70,072 were recorded on September 5 and currently, the recovery rate now is 77.23 per cent. This has also led to the declining Case Fatality Rate (CFR), which stands at a new low of 1.73 per cent," Ministry said in a statement.
According to a graph of the Ministry, there were 68,584 recoveries on September 3, 65,081 on September 1 and 57,469 on August 24.
COVID-19: Bus Services Resumes In Indore
Bus services have resumed in Indore on Saturday after months of a break due to coronavirus induced lockdown.
The sanitizations of buses are being taken care of after every trip.
"We're ensuring that buses are sanitized after every trip and frequently contacted surfaces are also sanitized regularly. Wearing of masks is mandatory for all commuters," said Pratibha Pal, Municipal Commissioner.
Odisha Reports 3,543 New COVID-19 Cases, Seven More Deaths
Odisha reported 3,543 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, taking its tally to 1,20,221, a Health Department official said.
Seven more people lost their lives, following which the number of deaths rose to 538, he said.
The day also registered recovery of 3,443 patients taking the total number of cured people in the state to 93,774, which is 78 per cent of the total caseload.
Most of the new cases were reported from the Khurda district where 878 people tested positive, its highest single-day spike. Mayurbhanj reported 326 new cases, followed by 295 cases detected in Cuttack, the official said.
Rs 500 Fine For Commuters Without Face Mask: Noida Metro
Commuters found travelling without face masks in the Noida-Greater Noida metro rail network will have to pay a fine of Rs 500 and those caught spitting will have to cough up Rs 100.
The services of the Noida-Greater Noida Metro, also known as the Aqua Line, are set to resume from Monday after a gap of five months with several anti-COVID precautions like commuters maintaining social distancing and having face cover in place, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) said on Saturday.
"Passengers found spitting inside metro stations, trains or any other metro premises will have to pay a fine of Rs 100 for the first time and Rs 500 for any subsequent occurrence. Passengers found travelling without masks in the metro trains, stations or any other metro premises will have to pay a fine of Rs 500," the NMRC said in a statement.
For First Time, Maharashtra Reports Over 20,000 COVID-19 Cases In A DayIn a grim milestone, Maharashtra on Saturday reported its highest-ever single-day spike in COVID-19 cases at 20,489, taking the total count of infections to 8,83,862, showed the state health department data.
With 312 deaths due to the highly contagious virus in the last 24 hours, the total number of fatalities rose to 26,276 in the state, it said.

Coronavirus News: Ahmedabad Metro Begins Sanitasion Ahead Of Service Resumption
Metro authorities undertook sanitisation work in Ahmedabad ahead of the resumption of its services from September 7 as part of Unlock 4, reported by news agency ANI. Workers carried out the sanitisation work at the stations and also inside trains. A few days back, the Home Ministry had issued new guidelines for opening up of more activities in areas outside the containment zones. Under Unlock-4, Metro services have been allowed to resume from September 7 in a graded manner.
