PATNA: JD(U) president and Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar will sound bugle for the forthcoming state assembly polls through his first mega virtual rally on Monday.
Christened as “Nischay Samvad”, the mega virtual rally will begin at 11.30 am on Monday. Around 35 lakh people are expected to directly hear Nitish Kumar’s speech through different social media platforms including the JD(U)’s exclusive digital platform ‘jdulive.com.’
“It will be the biggest ever virtual rally, as the JD(U) has already sent its virtual platform’s link to more than 26.25 lakh people to directly connect them with the CM when he delivers his speech,” the party’s national secretary Rabindra Prasad Singh told TOI on Sunday.
Singh said, there is a festival like atmosphere at majority of block and district headquarters of the JD(U), as party’s senior leaders , MLAs and MPs have made arrangements of big LED screens, TV screens so that large number of people can hear the JD(U) chief’s first election speech, while maintain social distancing.
“As per reports reaching the JD(U) state headquarters here, the party workers have erected tents at thousands of polling stations or schools across the state and made arrangements of big LED screens to facilitate clear hearing of Nitish’s speech,” Singh said.
He said, the party chief’s speech would be directly telecast and broadcast from the newly-built Karpoori Thakur Sabhagar at the JD(U)’s state office here.
The ‘Nischay Samvad’ was earlier scheduled to be held on Sunday (September 6) but it was rescheduled a day later due to the week-long state mourning following the death of former President Pranab Mukherjee on August 31.
“Through this mega virtual rally, the party will try to connect with the maximum possible number of people ahead of the Bihar assembly election which is due in the month of October-November this year,” senior JD(U) leader and state’s building construction minister Ashok Choudhary told TOI.
Choudhary said the party had been making preparations for the mega virtual rally for the last four months.
