Rise in smuggling in NE due to eco distress caused by COVID- 19: FICCI
The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci) on Sunday said the recent rise in smuggling in the northeast can be attributed to economic distress caused by COVID-19 pandemic.
The FICCI's Committee Against Smuggling and Counterfeiting Activities Destroying the Economy (CASCADE) lauded the efforts of paramilitary force Assam Rifles and congratulated its Director General along with other officers for their anti-smuggling operations.

Govt mulls installing EV charging kiosks at around 69,000 petrol pumps in country
The government is mulling setting up at least one electric vehicle (EV) charging kiosk each at nearly 69,000 petrol pumps across the country to induce people to go for electric mobility.
Besides, the government is also thinking of making it compulsory to install EV charging kiosks at all Company-Owned, Company-Operated (COCO) petrol pumps of state refiners.

FPIs turn net sellers in Sep so far, pull out Rs 900 cr
Overseas investors pulled out Rs 900 crore on net basis from Indian markets in the first four trading sessions of this month as weak economic data and India-China border tensions hit market sentiment.
Depositories data showed that foreign portfolio investors (FPI) pulled out Rs 675 crore from equities and Rs 225 crore from the debt segment on net basis between September 1-4.
Prior to this, FPIs were net buyers for three consecutive months. They invested Rs 46,532 crore in August, Rs 3,301 crore in July and Rs 24,053 crore in June on net basis.

Sushant case: NCB summons Rhea; serves notice at home
A Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) team reached actress Rhea Chakraborty's home in Mumbai on Sunday morning to serve her summons for joining probe in the drugs case linked to the death of her live-in partner and actor Sushant Singh Rajput, officials said.
The agency has said that it wants to question Rhea, 28, the main accused in the death case, to take the probe forward in the case.
"The team has gone to serve the summons for joining investigation. She(Rhea) can come on her own or she can come with the team," a senior official of the federal anti-narcotics agency said.

President, PM to address Governors' Conference on NEP
