Butters bumped Jy Simpkin in the third quarter of the Power’s win over North Melbourne on Saturday night, with Simpkin concussed.
Butters chose to bump instead of tackle and his shoulder collected Simpkin in the head, who immediately looked groggy.
Match review officer Michael Christian deemed the incident as careless conduct, high impact and high contact.
Port Adelaide are four points clear on top of the AFL ladder with Brisbane one of the teams behind them in second, although they have a game in hand.
They play Essendon and Collingwood in their remaining two games.
