In an attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, the BJP on Saturday claimed that India's enemies are using the Congress to threaten national interest.
BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said at a press conference that the Gandhi family was endorsed by China, adding that it was an example of "anti-India stand".
The BJP spokesperson, while citing the Chinese daily Global Times report stated that Beijing is exasparated by Indian Army's efforts to thwart attempts made by te Chinese side to violate the Line of Actual Control and Congress is seen by the Chinese as the one promoting antiIndia agenda.
"Congratulations to Rahul Gandhi. You were earlier a hero of Pakistan. Now, you are a hero of China too. But you are a big zero for India. You are a hero for our enemies. China is in a disadvantageous position and is using the Congress's shoulders to fire at India... This is a classic definition of anti-India stand." Ptra said.
"The love between China and the Congress is out in open," Patra added.
"Be it Pakistan, terrorists or China; why is this that all of them like the Congress," patr said, adding that Rahul Gandhi's comments were highlighted by Pakistan in its dossier against India in the United Nations.
It as right after Prime Minister Narendra Modi had revoked Article 370 on August 5, 2019.
the border situation with China has escalated with recent attempts made by China to occupy Indian territory in the Southern Bank of Pangong lake.
On the intervening night of August 29-30, the Indian Army thwarted an attempt by the Chinese Army to transgress into Indian areas near the southern bank of Pangong Tso near Chushul in Ladakh.
A few days later on August 1, Indian security forces foiled an attempt by the Chinese Army to transgress into the Indian side of the LAC in the general area of Chumar in Eastern Ladakh.
India and China are engaged in a standoff since April-May over the transgressions by the Chinese Army in multiple areas including Finger area, Galwan valley, Hot springs and Kongrung Nala.
The situation worsened after 20 Indian soldiers were killed in violent clashes with Chinese troops in Galwan valley in June.
The talks between the two sides have been going on for the last three months including five Lieutenant general-level talks but have failed to yield any results, so far.
Army Spokesperson Col Aman Anand reiterated that the Indian Army is committed to maintaining peace and tranquility through dialogue, but is also equally determined to protect India's territorial integrity.
