Contrary to the situation in jumbo hospitals in Pune, the jumbo hospital facility at Annasaheb Magar Stadium in Nehru Nagar of Pimpri has been managed well

Pimpri: Contrary to the situation in jumbo hospitals in Pune, the jumbo hospital facility set up at Annasaheb Magar Stadium in Nehru Nagar of Pimpri has been managed well.

The hospital set up at Annasaheb Magar Stadium in Nehru Nagar has been in operation for three days. The Jumbo Hospital at the Auto Cluster Exhibition Center at Chinchwad Station started functioning from Friday (September 4). On the first day alone, six patients were admitted. All the expenses of this hospital have been borne by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.

Dr Preeti Victor, Head of Jumbo Facility Hospital at Magar Stadium in Pimpri said, “Positive patients sent by Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital, New Bhosari Hospital, Jijamata, Sassoon and Pune Municipal hospitals are admitted to jumbo facility hospital at Magar stadium. X-ray with ICU, HDU, Pathology Lab, Dialysis facility is available here. Doctors, nurses, cleaning staff, ward boys staff is adequate in numbers. We are planning to start a Covid-19 testing centre here soon.”

The jumbo facility at Magar stadium has General, Oxygenated, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), Ventilator Facility (HDU). Patients are provided with free treatment, nutritious food and water. A fire protection system has been installed for emergencies.

Each department has separate rooms for doctors and staff. There are also wheelchairs with stretchers. The removal of grass and unwanted bushes along the protective walls of the hospital (stadium) was done on Friday. At present three wards namely Oxygen, ICU and HDU are functioning.

Coronavirus infection is on the rise in rural areas including Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. Vacant beds in municipal and private hospitals in the city are declining. To increase this number, the district administration, Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) and Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation have set up jumbo facility hospitals.
