Pune: The problem of COVID-19 pandemic in Maharashtra, which has been going on for the last six months, does not seem to be diminishing. On the contrary, the situation is getting worse day by day. Let's put politics aside and all political parties and major social organisations should face this crisis together, appealed the State President of Bharatiya Janata Party, Chandrakant Patil in a letter to to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

Chandrakant Patil said in the letter that “the seriousness of the corona crisis in the Maharashtra state has created a need for all political parties and some of the major social organisations working together in this situation to face the crisis together." He added, "It is very important for all of us, including various political parties as well as various other organisation like Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Janakalyan Samiti, Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana, ISKCON, Tata Trust, Art of Living and others to analyze the situation together, decide on solutions and share the work.”

Explaining the government's limit, he said, “There is a limit to the number of beds in the government hospitals. This situation is being addressed as a large number of patients are being treated in private hospitals. Therefore, it is wrong to look at private hospitals with suspicion.”

He said, “As a large number of patients are currently being treated in private hospitals, those hospitals need to be directly guaranteed by the government with a fixed amount per day, per bed, in addition to the Mahatma Jyotiba Jan Arogya Yojana.”

He pointed, “1,100 patients have been cured at Krishna Hospital in Karad. Even today, 400 patients are receiving treatment. Despite this, he has received only Rs 44,000 from the government in the last six months. In such a situation, he has asked how to expect cooperation from private hospitals.”

He said that in view of the current crisis there is a need to set up a well-equipped hospital with oxygen beds in a village of 2,000 people. There is also a need for medical, paramedical and supplementary staff while providing facilities. One lakh people like doctors, medical students, nurses, ward boys of various branches of medicine need to be appointed for one year.
