Pimpri-Chinchwad: Police Commissioner Krishna Prakash releases emergency helpline number

Pune: Newly appointed Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Krishna Prakash has appealed to citizens to directly call him on his number 8805081111 if they have any problem. CP Krishna Prakash has said that citizens are his messengers and he will seek their help to change society. He also warned that 'white-collar crime' in the industrial township and Information Technology hub will not be tolerated at all.

CP Krishna Prakash took charge of his post on Saturday (September 6) from the outgoing police chief Sandeep Bishnoi. Additional Commissioner of Police (Additional CP) Ramnath Pokale and Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sudhir Hiremath were present on the occasion. After taking charge, Krishna Prakash spoke to media persons and elaborated his strategy to curb the crime rate in the Pimpri-Chinchwad city.

Krishna Prakash said, "I am aware of the 'Mathadi' problem in the city. We will focus on 'zero tolerance' policy to curb illegal trade and the elimination of white-collar crime. It is also understood that a 'pressure group' is working underground. Strict action will be taken against those who indulge in wrongdoings. If white-collar, illegal trades continue, they will be completely shut down. Police officers and employees will be punished if they misbehave or engage in any malpractice."

Krishna Prakash has previously worked in South Mumbai, Sangli, Nagar, Malegaon and Buldhana. He said, "Each city or place has its own and different problems. Pimpri-Chinchwad area is known as an industrial and IT hub. There are also a large number of educational institutions in the area. I will study this city, its problems and then fix my working methodology."

"In any city, 99 per cent of the citizens are law-abiding. However, one per cent of citizens who do not follow the law will be punished. If the police and people come together and decide, the problems can be solved. Hence, common people are my messengers and I will take their help to change society. Efforts will be made to bring juvenile offenders into the mainstream with the help of NGOs to give them the right direction," he added.
