UP Congress chief Ajay Lallu held on way to Ayodhya

AYODHYA: UP Congress president Ajay Lallu was arrested near a toll plaza on Faizabad highway on Thursday when he was on his way to address farmers at Dharampur village in Ayodhya, where land acquisition for an international airport has begun.
There was a heated exchange between police and Lallu near Ahmadpur toll plaza before he was taken into custody for violating prohibitory orders and Covid protocols. Ayodhya district Congress chief Akhilesh Yadav, who slipped through barricades to meet farmers was also arrested. Land is being acquired at Dharampur, Nandapur and Janaura villages for the airport, but residents of Dharampur turned restive over allegedly getting a raw deal.
