DMRC said trains will be operational between 7am and 11am in the morning and 4pm and 8pm in the eveningGHAZIABAD: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has released the standard operating procedure (SOP) for resumption of metro services on the Blue Line and Red Line from September 9 and 10, respectively. A maximum of two entry/exit gates will be opened at metro stations, while the rest will remain closed.
DMRC said trains will be operational between 7am and 11am in the morning and 4pm and 8pm in the evening.
On the Red Line, gate No. 1 (towards Ghaziabad) and gate No. 2 (towards Delhi) will be open at the Shaheed Sthal New Bus Adda station. At the other seven stations on the Red Line falling in Ghaziabad, DMRC has decided to open only one gate for passengers. Only gate No. 1 will be open at Hindon River, Major Mohit Sharma Rajender Nagar and Raj Bagh stations. Only gate No. 2 will be open at Arthala, Mohan Nagar, Shyam Park and Shahid Nagar stations.
Meanwhile, gate No.1 and gate No. 2 will be open for passengers at Blue Line’s Kaushambi station, while Vaishali metro station will have only gate No. 1 open.
While in the train, passengers will be permitted to sit only on alternate seats or stand while maintaining adequate social distancing. ‘Do not sit here’ stickers have been fixed on alternate seats to maintain social distancing inside the train.
The dwell time (stoppage) of trains at each station, which was earlier 10-15 seconds, will be increased by 10 seconds to 20-25 seconds so that passengers get sufficient time to board and de-board. At interchange stations, dwell time will be increased by 20 seconds to 55-60 seconds.
Tokens will not be permitted for travelling to prevent transmission of the novel coronavirus through frequent touching/handling. Only smart card holders will be allowed to travel, as the card which can be recharged digitally, thus avoiding human interface.
All human contact areas inside stations, including lift buttons, escalator handrails, AFC gate touch points and customer handling points, will be disinfected every four hours or earlier as required.
