Poet Sadhana Mukhopadhyay passes away

KOLKATA: Sadhana Mukhopadhyay, a popular poet of the 60s and 70s, passed away at her residence late on Wednesday night.
After graduating from the Allahabad University, Sadhana Mukhopadhyay started writing poetry in the 60s. She became extremely popular in the 70s when her Dopatir Ichchhe, Kabitar Adalat and Ramoni Golap were published. She became a household name with her cookbook series that were instant hits with newly married women then.
Sadhana is survived by her husband Pabitra Kumar Mukherji, a legendary printing technologist, who helped to start printing technology department at the Jadavpur University, and three daughters.
