Ambala recorded 39th death due to Covid-19, as a patient succumbed to the virus, said district civil surgeon
Dr Kuldeep Singh on Friday.
“A 38-year-old man of
Ambala Cantt died of Covid-19 at MMIMSR, Mullana on Friday. He was a patient of chronic liver disease and was kept on BiPAP (Bilevel positive airway pressure) but his condition deteriorated”, said Dr Singh.
"Ambala recorded highest ever single-day spike of 127 fresh positive cases on Friday, increasing the case tally to 4,235, with 647 active cases. Of the 127 new cases, 59 are from Ambala City, 20 from Chourmastpur, 19 from Ambala Cantt, 10 from Naraingarh, nine from Barara, eight from Mullana, and two from Shahzadpur”, said Dr Singh.
As many as 70 patients were discharged on the day, taking the recovery count to 3,549, he said.
"With the recovery rate of 83.80%, the case tally reached 4,235 in Ambala, of which; 3,549 patients got discharged, 39 died and 647 are active cases”, he said.
“So far, we have collected 64,188 samples for Covid-19 testing in Ambala, of which, 53,011 are RT-PCR samples and 11,177 are antigen testing kit samples. In the district, we have collected 56,904 samples per 10 lakh population”, said Dr Singh.
