Representative image. PATNA: Police on Friday arrested two youths for allegedly sodomizing a four-year-old male child at a village under Rania Talab police station area of Paliganj in western Patna.
Police said both the accused were identified as Samu Manjhi, aged around 18 years and Sanjay Manjhi, aged around 22 years. Police said both were produced before court on Friday evening for sending to jail. Police also said that both the youths were neighbours of the victim and worked as daily wagers in the village.
Rania Talab police station SHO Indrajeet Singh said that the incident took place at around 7pm on Thursday.
“The child was playing just outside his residence when Samu and Sanjay took him away to a secluded place which was far from his residence,” he said.
SHO said the parents had meanwhile started looking for the boy when he returned almost after more than an hour.
“The victim was crying continuously. He somehow told the name of two youths who had taken him away,” he said.
SHO said that the child later also conveyed to parents that they had thrashed and threatened him in order to keep him quite.
“The wrong doing suspicion arose when the child indicated with hand gestures about pain in back,” he said.
SHO said that the victim’s father approached Rania Talab police station on Friday morning and submitted a written complaint against Samu and Sanjay for sodomizing his four-year-old son.
“Police afterwards immediately arrested the duo. Police had actually got the information of the incident at around midnight after which both accused were detained,” he said.
SHO said both the accused confessed before police of wrong doing. “It is yet not clear that how they got involved in such activity. They don’t have any access to cellphone or internet,” he said.
Singh said that the minor child was sent for medical examination to Gardanibagh government hospital. “Further investigation were going on in connection with the case. Police would have to wait for medical report to know details about victim’s injuries,” he added.
